Dogs are perceived to be the most loyal of animals. They are considered to have a higher sense of perception so that they can feel the changes in their environment. Going back to their ancestors’ time, they had to rely on their understanding of perception to survive.

They are no more than a toddler at your home who roams in the whole of the house, making it messy and disruptive. The house gets disoriented when your dog is not trained in a certain way to act and avoid unwanted behavior. Some many ways and techniques that tell you how to train your dog to behave in a specific way. But what is the best technique or method?

Here are the 4 ways to train your dog and make it show good manners.

  1. Fewer Distractions

According to a study, 5% of dogs show aggression towards other pets if they are not trained. It’s better to choose a surrounding with fewer distractions. This thing helps you to have better attention for your dog. The Dog listens to your commands more carefully, instead of wandering in a nearby environment and staring at other dogs or things.

However, once your dog has learned basic commands, you can take him in the area of distractions. It will help him to understand that he has to be obedient in all circumstances.

2. Have Patience

‘’Manners come with practice, and obedience comes with respect.’’

Dogs are very sensitive to our behavior towards them, just like a child. Many people use the ‘’Hinny’’ maneuver while training dogs. It means that the dog is smacked if it does something wrong. Oftentimes, it inserts fear instead of respect into their minds, and this isn’t the right method to teach them.

Instead of smacking them, teach them what to do and what not to with patience. They will eventually be obliged and obedient.

3. Training sessions should be short

Different dogs, like different people, have different attention spans. However, some require more training and attention. It is better to continue your training sessions every day, don’t cut, cancel, or change the time until necessary.

The time for training the dog should be relatively short. There must be two training sessions in a day, about 10–20 minutes each. Reinforce commands by asking your dog to ‘’sit’’ before a meal, ‘’stand’’ when going out, or ‘’stay’’ when you go to get his lead.

4. Take your dog out in nature

Nature is the best nurturer of every creation. Nature can make dogs as fresh as a daisy. Dogs love to keep the active spirit alive; it gives them purpose and instills a sense of confidence in them. It allows them to explore, experience, and increase their perceptions.

Conclusion

Dogs can be your best animal friends. As they are to live at your home, they need to be trained through many strategies to make them calm, composed, and obedient. This strategy helps them to behave in all circumstances.
